Birthplace and Current Location: Auckland, New Zealand (that's why I'm Kiwi Musume - NZers are called Kiwis.)

Current Job: Translator. My specialties are finance, tourism and entertainment, and I do a lot of reports from other sectors too.

How I got into Jpop: I was hanging out with these Japanese exchange students at my high school’s sports day, justifying my lack of activity with the fact that at least I was exercising my Japanese (which was still pretty basic then) and one of them ended up letting me have a listen to the CD she was playing in her discman (Morning Musume’s “Best! Morning Musume 1”, which to this day is still one of my favourites.) And the rest, as they say, is history. :D

You may remember me from such Jpop websites as: Megchan's Jpop Pages and Cori's Jpop Lyrics Homepage. I started submitting translations and things to Megchan’s site in late 2004 and doing the occasional translation or part translation for Cori’s site in early 2005, but after awhile I decided I'd done enough songs to branch out on my own, and so at 11:27pm on October 26 2005, Kiwi-Musume.com was born. :D

Current Favourite Japanese Artists: Morning Musume and a lot of the other Hello Project groups (I'm going through a big Hello Project phase at the moment), AKB48, Arashi, Lil'B, Hamasaki Ayumi, Ueto Aya, Ikimonogakari, Yui, Aiuchi Rina, Younha, Misia, Fukuhara Miho, Ayaka, Scandal, B'z, Bennie K, Do As Infinity, Melody, Sugawara Sayuri, Garnet Crow, Shibasaki Kou, Moumoon, Idoling!!! (or "Idoling!!!1!" as I like to call them. :P). I also love a lot of older artists like Lindberg, Ooguro Maki, Pink Lady, Speed, WANDS, Pool Bit Boys, CoCo, Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi and Princess Princess, and a lot of the older stuff by BoA, Shimatani Hitomi, Aikawa Nanase, Tamaki Nami, Katou Miliyah, Jyongri and Aoyama Thelma.

Current Favourite English Artists: I wasn't impressed by anything the English charts had to offer for awhile and listened to almost nothing but Jpop for about 5 years, but now I've found quite a bit of English stuff I like. Current favourites are Lady Gaga, Rih-Rih (I cracked up when I first saw her name written as that and have called her that ever since XD), Gin Wigmore (I originally only liked her because of the naked air crew ad but her first studio album is soooo good!), Taylor Swift, the Pussycat Dolls, Jordin Sparks, Akon, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys (they came back and released an album in 2008 and it was sooooo good. Their ballads are as amazing as ever!), and I really like the songs Remedy by Little Boots, Whatcha Say by Jason Derulo, Everytime We Touch by Cascada, When Love Takes Over by David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland, Stole by Kelly Rowland and Love Sex Magic by Ciara. I've also been listening to a lot of 80s songs that I used to hear on the radio and love when I was younger. My latest thing in non-Japanese music is the songs from the Eurovision Song Contest. Some are crap, some are boring, but most of them are really awesome.

Hobbies: Working on my website, hanging out with friends, reading, shopping, watching Jdramas, watching America's Next Top Model and similar hilarious reality TV shows, reading snark communities and comedy blogs and eating far too much Thai food from the place by Downtown. Mmmmmmmm, Thai food. <3
